On September 20, 2024, the Callejo-Botello Foundation hosted its inaugural Changemakers Luncheon.

Local immigration attorneys Monica Lira Bravo and Laura Baez Torres, members of the Callejo-Botello Foundation board, organized a wonderful event and were instrumental to its success!
The funds raised will be instrumental in supporting several key initiatives, including:
- Scholarship Programs: Providing financial assistance to Latino students pursuing higher education, helping them overcome financial barriers and achieve their academic goals.
- Civic Engagement: Encouraging voter registration and community engagement.
- Leadership Development: Developing the next generation of Latino leaders in various sectors at the local level.
The program featured a thought-provoking panel moderated by Rebecca Acuña of AT&T and remarks from several distinguished public officials.
This special event honored the enduring legacy of Adelfa Callejo and the transformative work of the Callejo-Botello Foundation, including their new leadership program.
The Callejo-Botello Foundation was established in 1979 to honor the pioneering spirit and legacy of Adelfa Callejo, the first Latina attorney in Dallas, and her lifelong dedication to justice and education. The Foundation’s board, composed of passionate community leaders, continues Callejo’s work by advocating for educational opportunities, legal representation, and civic engagement for the Latino community.
